Mojokerto – To promote tourist attractions and boost the local economy, the Mojokerto government has introduced a new initiative called WIKA, or Mojokerto City Tour.
WIKA will transport tourists via shuttle cars to visit iconic and legendary tourist spots in Mojokerto City on weekends.
The Acting Mayor of Mojokerto stated that two vehicles have been prepared for tourists to explore the city every Saturday and Sunday.
“The two vehicles will be divided into two routes to reach the top tourist destinations in Mojokerto City,” explained Ali Kuncoro after testing the shuttle car on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
He elaborated that the first route or western trip starts from the Gunung Gedangan rest area, PGS, PLUT, Taman Bahari, Skywalk Mojopahit, Sekarsari, and back to the Gunung Gedangan rest area.
“Meanwhile, the eastern trip starts from the Gunung Gedangan rest area to Sekarsari Bathing Area, Soekarno Center, Skywalk, Jl. Yos Sudarso, Jl. Ir. Soekarno, (Majapahit Marine Park area), Pulorejo City Forest, People’s House, and back to the Rest Area,” he said.
Furthermore, the person affectionately known as Mas Pj stated that each passenger will be charged a fare of twenty thousand rupiah to tour the city using this shuttle car.
“The fare is 20,000 rupiah for both adults and children, and includes free drinks and snacks,” he clarified.
He hopes that with the introduction of this shuttle car, more people will become familiar with and visit the tourist attractions in Mojokerto City.
“Of course, as the number of tourists increases, it will also boost economic activities, including at the Gununggedangan Rest Area, thereby improving the well-being of small and medium enterprises (SMEs),” he hoped.
To travel using the shuttle car, prospective passengers are required to register beforehand via the link https://bit.ly/pendaftarantripwisatakotamjk. Through this link, prospective passengers can choose the departure time and number of passengers. The departure times for each route are at 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
